Vincent van Gogh - Bedroom at ArlesThis well-sized journal features the first version of Vincent's Bedroom at Arles. Vincent would repaint the bedroom two more times the following year. Vincent was known for saying he dreamed his paintings, and then he painted his dreams. Referring to the first painting, Vincent wrote to his brother Theo, "This time it simply reproduces my bedroom; but colour must be abundant in this part, its simplification adding a rank of grandee to the style applied to the objects, getting to suggest a certain rest or dream. "
